Architecting is Difficult

We have all these best practices for building apps but at the end of the day it’s hard to do – and in the moment it’s not always possible to follow the best practices. In this session, Jack will explore the common approaches and pitfalls of architecting large web apps, whether it be a JS app, a server side Ruby / PHP app or a mixture. Jack will look at ways to try and keep apps sane as they grow, but also ways to go back and refactor, improving things, and how to make it a natural part of your workflow. This talk is not language specific, so if you’re writing jQuery code in the front-end, or creating large Ruby on Rails apps, you should still be able to take techniques away to apply.
